Gaia Philharmonic Choir

Introduction of the Choir

The Gaia Philharmonic Choir was founded in 2001 in Tokyo with a strong desire to contribute to choral music in Japan.

With a repertoire that covers both Western and Asian music of the past and present, the choir endeavors to foster closer ties by holding regular concerts with both local and foreign groups.

We received the Gold prize in the All-Japan Choral Competition(2001,2002) and were awarded the Encouragement Prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2002.

Naming of This Choir

Having adopted the name of the Greek Goddess of Earth, Gaia, the choir believes in the symbolic between humans and their surroundings.

With this in mind, we hope that the music we sing will bring peace and unity to the world.
